What room types are there?

Two. Ninety-four North Double Rooms at 245 sq ft with two separate beds, and sixteen North Family Rooms at 308 sq ft with three. Both are air-conditioned and on the ground floor.

Is there a restaurant?

Not in this building, and there is no in-room dining. Guests eat at the campus dining halls and cafés, or at the restaurants in the other Pearl houses nearby. The desk will point you at whichever is open.

Are all the rooms really on the ground floor?

Yes. The whole property is single storey, so there are no stairs and no lift anywhere in it. It is the easiest house at Kanha for a large group, for luggage, and for anyone who would rather not climb.

Is there a pool and a gym?

On the campus rather than in the hotel, at the Heartfulness International Sports Academy about five minutes away by golf cart — a 25-metre temperature-controlled pool with a baby pool and coaching, and an air-conditioned gym. Open seven to seven, Monday to Saturday.

Can you take a whole conference?

That is what the house is for. A hundred and ten rooms, ninety-four of them twin, so a residential group of up to about 188 sleeps on one level. Meeting rooms are at the flagship ten minutes away, and the campus has venues far larger.

Yes. Up to five they stay and eat free; six to eleven stay free with meals at half the adult rate; twelve and over are charged as adults. Two children can share with parents without an extra bed, and the family rooms take three beds.

Freshwater is the economy tier of The Pearl, and at Kanha it is the largest of the group's houses: 110 rooms, all on the ground floor, opened in 2022. Ninety-four are twin rooms at 245 sq ft and sixteen are family rooms at 308 with three beds. Air conditioning, a kettle, a desk and Wi-Fi in every one of them, and the campus pool, gym and gardens a short ride away.

No stairs and no lift anywhere in the property. It is the easiest house at Kanha to move a large group through, and the easiest for a guest who would rather not climb.

Gardens, the meditation halls, Babuji Vanam, the library and the sports academy are the same walk and the same buggy ride from this door as from any other.

The entry tariff, not the entry standard

Freshwater is the economy brand in the portfolio. The room is simple on purpose; the air conditioning, the Wi-Fi, the kettle and the housekeeping are not.

Getting here

Forty-five minutes from an international airport.

Twenty-seven and a half kilometres from Rajiv Gandhi International, eleven from Kothur, and far enough past both to hear birds instead of traffic. Transfers are arranged by reservations.

The setting

The simplest room at Kanha is still at Kanha.

Freshwater sits inside Kanha Shanti Vanam, which Heartfulness built out of dry open ground from 2010 onwards. The gardens, the meditation halls, the nursery and the forest are the same from this door as from any other at Kanha. We did not plant any of it. We are the reason you can sleep in the middle of it without paying a resort tariff.
